Worth knowing before you rent one

3600 against 840 is the difference that will actually affect your evening. If the light is on or the sun has not gone down, take the HD model. The 4K is the better picture, and it needs the room dark to show it.
It can sit off to one side
Both correct for being placed off-centre — 4D keystone on one, 45° corner keystone on the other — so the projector lives on a side table instead of in the middle of the floor on a stack of books.

How far from the wall does it need to be?

Do I need a projector screen?
No. A plain pale wall is what most people use and it works. A screen improves the picture, noticeably so with the 4K, but it is not required.
Can I stream straight from my phone?
On the 4K, yes — it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay and Miracast. The HD model takes HDMI and USB, so a streaming stick in the HDMI port is the usual and inexpensive answer.
Can I rent one for a single evening?
No — our minimum rental is three months. If you need a projector for one night, an event hire company is genuinely the better option, and we would rather say so than sell you a tenure you do not want.
