Worth knowing before you rent one
Rent it for the season, not the year
Three months is our minimum and, for a cooler in this city, usually the right answer: take it in March, return it when the monsoon sets in, and rent it again next year rather than storing it in a flat that has no room to store it.
Nothing installed, nothing drilled
Both units are floor standing and plug into a normal socket. There is no outdoor unit, no copper piping and no wall bracket, which makes this the cooling option a rented flat can actually have.
A fan that is not a cooler
If humidity is the problem rather than heat, the bladeless tower fan moves 2230 m³/hr at 40 watts without adding moisture to the room — and with no exposed blades, which matters in a flat with a small child or a cat.

Will a cooler work in Bengaluru's humidity?
Evaporative coolers work best in dry heat, which is what April and early May here mostly are. Once the pre-monsoon rain starts and the air gets heavy, a cooler adds moisture to a room that already has plenty — that is the point to switch to the fan, or to send it back.
How much electricity does it use?

Does it need a water connection?
