A projector is the one way to get a genuinely large picture into a rented flat without mounting anything to a wall. A 65-inch television needs a bracket, a stand or a unit, and all three are a conversation with a landlord; a projector needs a table, a plug and a pale wall.
Which also makes it the most seasonal thing we rent. Most projector rentals here are for something specific — a tournament, a season of something, a month of matches, a party, a fortnight of guests — and the three-month minimum is usually the whole rental.
The two machines answer different questions. The HD LED projector is the bright one at 3600 lumens, which is what you need for a picture that survives a room that is not pitch dark. The 4K is the small one, 550 grams and palm-sized, sharp enough to read text from and portable enough to take to someone else's flat.

Worth knowing before you rent one
Brightness matters more than resolution in a lit room
3600 lumens against 840 is the real difference between these two. If you will watch with a light on or before dark, take the HD model; the 4K is superb once the room is dark and washes out before that.
It does not have to sit square to the wall
Both correct for being off-centre — 4D keystone on one, 45° corner keystone on the other — so the projector can live on a side table rather than dead centre of the room on a stack of books.
Nothing mounted, nothing left behind
Table-top, plug in, done. No ceiling bracket, no cable run, no holes — which is the entire reason this works in a flat you do not own.
What it costs to rent projectors in Bengaluru

How much does it cost to rent a projector in Bengaluru?
From ₹750 a month, inclusive of taxes. The HD LED model is the cheaper of the two; the 4K costs about twice as much. Longer tenures cost less per month.
How big a picture will I get, and how far back does it go?
The HD model throws 40 to 200 inches from about 4 to 19 feet. The 4K throws 50 to 200 inches from as little as 0.65 feet at the small end. Measure the distance from where the projector will sit to the wall before choosing — that number decides the picture, not the room.
Do I need a screen?
A plain pale wall works, and is what most people use. A screen gives a better picture, particularly with the 4K, but it is not necessary to get a good one.
Can I stream on it directly?
The 4K model has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay and Miracast, so a phone or laptop casts straight to it. The HD model takes HDMI and USB — a streaming stick in the HDMI port is the usual answer, and it costs very little.
Can I rent one for a single event?
Our minimum is three months, so a one-night rental is not something we do. If you need it for an evening rather than a season, an event hire firm is the better answer and we will say so rather than sell you three months.
