In most cities a kitchen can wait a week. Not here. Cooking at home is the default rather than the fallback in Kolkata, and a flat where you cannot get a proper flame under a kadhai on the first evening is a flat you are not really living in yet.
The trouble is that a rented kitchen usually arrives as a counter, a sink and a gas point. Everything that turns that into somewhere you can cook — the stove, something to reheat in, something to fry in without half a litre of oil — is on you, and buying the lot for a flat you hold on an eleven-month agreement is a poor use of thirty thousand rupees.
One practical thing worth knowing before you choose. A gas connection is tied to a name and an address, and transferring or opening one takes time you may not have in your first fortnight. An induction cooktop runs off an ordinary socket from the day it arrives, which is why a lot of people here rent one to cook on while the cylinder paperwork catches up — and keep it afterwards as a second burner.

A burner that stops lighting, a microwave that hums without heating, a cooktop that trips the board — fixed at our cost by our own Kolkata team, with no service call-out fee and no warranty card to find.
Gas or induction, or both
A three-burner glass-top stove if you cook properly and have a cylinder. A single-burner induction plate if you do not, or want something extra for the days one flame is not enough. A dual-hob induction if you want a full second cooker without a gas line.
Nothing to sell or carry when you go
Used kitchen appliances fetch very little and take weeks to shift. At the end of your rental we collect them and refund the deposit — no listing, no haggling, no tempo in your final week.

How much does it cost to rent kitchen appliances in Kolkata?
From ₹209 a month, inclusive of taxes. Longer tenures cost less per month, and paying the whole tenure upfront waives the deposit and discounts the rent further.
How long does delivery take?
Two days from the point your KYC documents go in for the microwave and the air fryers, three for the gas stove and the single-burner cooktop, and five for the dual-hob induction. You choose the date and the time window yourself from your dashboard.
Do you supply the gas cylinder and regulator?
No. The stove is delivered on its own, because the cylinder, regulator and pipe come with your own LPG connection and are registered in your name. If you do not have a connection yet, an induction cooktop runs off an ordinary socket and will get you cooking the same day.
Which parts of Kolkata do you deliver to?

Can I use my existing pans on an induction cooktop?
Only the ones a magnet sticks to — flat-bottomed steel or iron. Aluminium, brass and most non-stick pans will not heat on induction however good they are. It is worth checking with a fridge magnet before you order, because it is the single most common reason people are disappointed by one.
